ESCaperucita & Little Flying Hood, consisting of 26 prints on aluminum Dibond, is a bilingual text-based work depicting the characters’ journey through an area of turbulence in the form of textual noise somewhere in the Caribbean. What begins with a coded signal, factual data and a lovers’ dialogue, evolves into a stream of consciousness rambling. The work explores the creative potential inherent in code-switching, Spanglish and textspeak as hybrid forms of communication that are able to intermix and transcend geographic and psychological spaces as well as digital and analog modes.

26 panels, 20x20 inches each, edition: 1/1, 2012

This is the latest work of a larger project produced for the X Havana Biennial. An
artist book, a catalog with a companion essay by José Quiroga, and a series of limited edition portfolios were also produced.
