Topografía extendida (Extended Topography)
temporary public intervention, digital prints on PVC Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, San Juan, PR 2024 The work intervenes the stairs at the east wing of the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico that lead to the Botanical Sculpture Garden. The project considers the stairs as a space of transition, extension, or connection between the garden and the Museum. The abstract image incorporates graphic elements that reflect local colors and includes lines representative of the topography of Santurce, where the museum is located. Topografía extendida was commissioned by the Poly/Graphic of Puerto Rico: Latin America and the Caribbean, which focuses on expanded printmaking practices in Latin America, the Caribbean, Puerto Rico and its diasporas. The project is also part of the museum's Regresos/Homeward Bound exhibition series, which features contemporary artists from the Puerto Rican Diaspora. |
